Hitch receiver size

We have a jayco x17z and tow it with a Chevy trailblazer. Dealer recommended a 6 inch hitch bet it so close to the ground that we can't even use the wheel on the hitch. We are thinking about getting a4 inch hitch. Any one have the same experience or thoughts?

I would be more concerned about the trailer being level. If the 4in drop hitch will make the trailer level then it will be ok. You do not want the tongue of the trailer to be high. I wouldn't worry about the wheel as much as being level.

ditto on not having the nose too high. That will cause you towing problems.

I agree with the other comments.

In respect to the tongue jack wheel, IMO you may find using a slide-in flat based stand more stable when camping....., less movement inside the trailer.
