Hitch when Camping?

I just used my Equalizer for he first time on our last trip. I hadn't thought about what to do with it until we got set up. I put the bars in a storage compartment on the TT and put the hitch in the bed of the truck (covered and locked). I don't use the TT bumper to store my sewer hose. I have an ABS tote-like box for that so I'm thinking I may just start sliding the bars in the empty bumper while camping.
