How do I know a prospective F250 will work w/ my fifth wheel?

I am going to be upgrading to an F250 to pull my Jayco Eagle HT 24.5 CKTS. I want to get the F250 gas engine to save some money. I have two concerns people can, hopefully, help me with.

I weighed my current F150 and trailer rig on a Cat scales recently and have the real weights. How can I compare those to stated GVWR, GAWR, Payload and other specs to be sure, when looking online, I am well within the ratings for the F250s I am looking at? Is the best idea to have the dealers email me door stickers with the manufacturer ratings and then plug all the numbers into the Fifth Wheel St. Safe Towing app? Ideally, I would take the prospective truck to the CAT Scales with the rig but no dealer will let me do that on spec.
I have seen posts on this board where people had issues because the F250 was too high for their HT towable fifth wheel. I am running a BW hitch and Anderson Ultimate fifth wheel hitch package, How can I be sure the 250s I look at will fit?
Thanks!

If you have the 16” wheel option on the coach, no problem with a 4x4 F250

Take some measurements from the ground to the u/s of the fifth wheel where the pin is. Then measure the F250.

The new super dutys are tall! My dad has an F350 and he has about 5" of clearance between the bed rails and the u/s of his fifth wheel.

I would guess that most people that have weight problems with an F250 either have a bigger trailer than you have, and/or have a 6.7 diesel. You should have more available payload with the gas motor.

But to answer your question; yes, should have them send you the actual stickers, for comparison and verification. I would even compare it to the VIN listed, in the advertising or website. Nothing says they couldn't or wouldn't send you the wrong sticker.

The listed weights on the door stickers, are for that specific truck. Anything else you read is not likely to be, for that specific truck.

I would think a test drive that includes a visit to the CAT Scale would be a problem unless the scale is too far away. If there’s one within 20 miles I’d think it’d be ok. I’d want more than a door sticker. For a 5th, I’d want the Rear GAWR and GAW. Does the dealer have a truck similar enough for you to get height measurements from?

Any new gas 3/4 ton will easily handle your trailer. Heck, many 1/2 tons can handle that trailer. As for height... grab a tape measure and don't forget to account for the suspension settling when loaded.

Monheganlover, I posted some info for you in your other thread titled, "Advice needed - for safety, want to upgrade my tow vehicle", that you may find useful.

We tow our 28.5 HT with our 2017 f250 Lariat gasser. With the 2 of us and a pin weight approaching 2,000 lbs, we still have 600 lbs of payload left. All of the GAWR are well below limits as scaled. We have 5 1/2” to 6” of clearance from the bedrails and we ride pretty much level.
