I Blame Crabman for this!!!

Well, since Crabby had to go out and get himself a new tow vehicle and "up the ante", so to speak, I couldn't be left in the dust so I bought one too...a 2012 Chevy Silverado 2500HD! Now I can't wait to get it out with the trailer and see how it performs compared to my last tv. Something tells me that it will be a night and day difference. The fact the truck has a built in sway control, hill assist, and integrated brake controller is already a step up for me.

I'm going to try to post a couple of pics but if this doesn't work you'll have to just be patient until I get things figured out.

I will take full and complete credit (or blame) for your TV upgrade! Wish I coulda gotta new one , not in the budget. You`ll love having some heavy springs under your rear end . Enjoy and appreciate the capabilities of the new 2500. Yeah, and get them pics posted ASAP .

Didja get a diesel or gasser?

I went with the gasser Viking...I looked at both options available and figured that since the truck was going to be used mainly as a daily driver that I just couldn't justify the diesel. Plus the deal I got on this was literally an "offer that you can't refuse", as they say. It was a 2012 but only had 18,000 km (just shy of 11,000 miles for you folks south of the border) and had the options on it that I was looking for.

I got the trailer package on my 2010 Ford and to my surprise the trailer brake brake system kicks out using the foot pedal when you are below 10MPH. Didn't like that idea. Don't know if GM has the same setup. When I pull up to a stop sign I usually just hold the trailer brakes on with the slide switch. Never had any problems but just feels better to have the trailer brakes somewhat locked down... I miss my old Prodigy P2....

Newrvguy looks a lot like mine, but mine is a GMC D/A combo. But the color is the same from what I can tell. I think you will like the vehicle. After driving a few gassers, I have had three diesels and the diesel mileage is up to 40-50% better than the gasser, pulling the same load. In town mileage for the diesel, unloaded, was around 14 when I first bought it compared to the 10 for the 454 Vortec. On the highway, towing my FW and boat together, the gasser was around 8 and the diesel was round 12. It seemed to me that, even with the disparity in fuel cost, the diesel might have come out ahead, in the long run.
