It's no wonder why people are confused about tow capacity...

Saw this article today (sorry it's not a Jayco) - https://www.businessinsider.com/airs...rk-and-play-19

Reading through it, there were two statements that when you put together, make me shake my head:

In total, the 2021 Flying Cloud 30FB Office weighs 6,757 pounds and has a gross vehicle mass of 8,800 pounds.

This was followed with:

This means the home office on wheels can be towed by an SUV or truck.

Really? I can see a truck (a properly sized truck) pulling this, but an SUV...

Maybe properly equipped Expedition with only a driver in the tow rig, and an empty trailer.

They are probably just regurgitating Airstream PR.

The vehicle dealership will lie about what you can tow and the RV sales guy will tell you what you want to hear to sell you that RV, so you can't trust either one of them. I know from experience as I had a nice F-150 4x4 with Max Tow and found out my payload wasn't enough to tow a Jayco Eagle HT (half ton) 5th wheel! I suppose they mean "the magical unicorn half ton that nobody owns" (single cab,2WD, long bed, vanilla with max tow package). Thus the upgrade to the F-250 I have today.
