Jay Feather 213 to 26BH

I am giving up my 2007 213 Jay Feather and will probably will go to a Jay Flight 26BH. I drive a 2007 5.7 Tundra and was wondering if my 14 by 2 inch equalizer hitch weight Dis 14,000 lb with 2 5/16 inch ball and 550 spring bars would be ok with the 26 BH?

I tow my 26BH with a 7500gw/750tw pro series by Reese. My TT is 6000 dry and 7500 gtw so I'm maxed out for tongue weight if I am fully loaded and assume 10% is on the tongue. With 14000# capacity you'll be fine, and I'd assume based on the total capacity tongue weight shouldn't be a problem.

Congrats on the 26BH, you're gonna love her. We sure do!

I have a 2013 Tundra towing a 26BH. The 26BH is heavy on the tongue when you get loaded. You will need at minimum, 1,000# bars for the hitch. If you pack REALLY light and haul NO water, you can get away with 750# bars. I have a thread in here showing my CAT scale weights fully loaded. The Tundra pulls the trailer nicely in 5th gear.

My dealer set up my 26BH with #800 bars. I have transferred these to the 27DSRL and they work fine. Your #550 bars will probably be a bit light.

With a dry hitch weight of 485 your loaded TW will be considerably more. IMO 550 lb spring bars will not be enough.
