Just ordered the ProPride, is it really that good

no sway?? is it a great system to have ?? TT 2016 White Hawk 28DSBH, loaded weight 7500. Hoping its worth the money. Sway, just the thought of it makes me so nervous and scared, especially after witnessing it first hand last week. Thank you

And we are installing it, not the service department

ProPride makes a darn good product and it will practically eliminate sway. You'll love the way it works and should be very happy with it. Just make sure you set it up correctly. Don't be nervous. It'll surprise you.

Good Luck!

I've owned the Pro Pride for 2 years now and love it and no sway... As you can see my rig is a '91 Ford Bronco short, short wheelbase and I tow a '15 White Hawk 27DSRL fully loaded. Bikes, kayaks, camping gear, you name we got it. Towed 4K miles last summer from CA to OH over the Rockies. NO sway not once. You'll love your investment in the Pro Pride and it actually saves you money in the long run because it's the last hitch you'll every buy.

As you can see what I pull with the propride hitch. It is a fantastic hitch that can not sway. The only issue I have is that everything has to be level or your going to start swearing. I have the straptek brackets and I think that is where the problem is but when I get back from this 3000 mile trip I will be talking to Shawn. I'm sure he will figure something out. His service can't be beat.

The Pro-Pride is the only hitch I've used on my new trailer I picked up in October last year. I've used it a bit now, even on a week-long trip from Oregon to Wyoming, so I feel I've run it through it's paces.

I love everything about it, except... on a trailer such as mine, the propane cover gets in the way of the WD jacks. Not sure if you'll have any trouble on a whitehawk, though. I'm betting not.

What it's forced me into is using strap jacks, which work fine when everything is hitched, but don't hold the coupler steady once unhooked from the truck. I've taken to carrying a floor jack around with me to prop up the coupler head while I hitch it up. It's a bit of a pain, but it works flawlessly when I do this.

That's my only complaint. I haven't noticed any sway at all on any of my trips. I still notice large trucks pulling me in just a little, but not enough to worry about.

While I don't have much history to compare it to, I do recommend it. However, I don't recommend using it with strap-tek jacks if you can avoid it.

The manufacturer told me he was going to solve this little problem and get back to me in the spring of this year. He appears to no longer be returning my emails, so I don't know how that will end up, but am definitely looking forward to a better solution than carrying around a floor jack everywhere.

Xflyhighx - recommend you jack up the head with a floor jack or similar extension arm. Once I level it out that way, hitching up is really quite easy.

That said, I went through a LOT of frustration before I figured that out.

Debmar, I pulled my old camper with an Equalizer hitch. While it is adequate and worked well I white knuckled more than not in heavy traffic and trailers had a big pull on me. I have only pulled the new camper, Eagle 314BHDS with the Propride. My father in law strongly suggested it. I am extremely happy with it. I don't have an apples to apples comparison but I have not found myself white knuckling it at all. Hooking up is a little different but with a little practice I feel like it is easier than my old hitch now.

When the TT outweighs the TV, sway is definitely something to avoid. The closer you get to max tow ratings, the more you will appreciate the Propride. I have towed our 28BHBE for 3 years with the Propride and would not tow without it. I would suggest that you learn how to adjust the hitch to ensure that it is properly installed as there are some dealers who do not know how to install or adjust Propride/Hensley hitches and can not be bothered to find out.

I don't trust dealer installation either. My husband and I will install. Sean, from ProPride said he will help us as needed. Our TV is a truck tows up to 12,900, so we a really good with that. Our TV Max weight loaded 7500 never would back that much LOL) Thank you and others for your opinion.

Thanks to those in this thread who mentioned a jack. I plan to get a bottle jack for this. I was also unable to use the standard jacks, so I am stuck with the StrapTeks.

He may be referring to something like this pic he sent me a couple days ago. But in the end he told me my best bet would be to use the StrapTeks.
