Are you talking about using a Soul to tow a trailer, or to tow one behind an RV?

From a quick Google, the tow capacity of a Soul is a maximum of 2000 pounds, so you'd only be able to tow, safely, a small unit.

Here is what the Kia web site says. Sounds like you don't own one yet, I would look online for the model and year owners manual to confirm.

Some model years of the Kia Soul with manual transmission can be safely flat towed with 4 wheels down, but you will want to check your owner's manual to confirm that your particular model year is capable of being flat towed. This should appear in your manual under the heading "recreational towing".

A friend of mine has towed one across country behind both a class C and class A with no issues that I know of.

I would not recommend buying a Kia period.

why? they are cheap, they don't hold value, but if you are going to use one for the stated purpose of pulling it and just driving it around as a secondary car probably a good deal. Don't they have a 100k mile warranty on the drivetrain? after a 100k you can just buy another one...

The mouse KIA soul makes me want to puke, but they sell because I see a bunch of them...

I wouldn't agree with that at all. For the price they are very reliable. Friend beats the crapola out of his with no issues. The Soul's are very reliable.

Kia buys a lot of parts/patents or borrows etc. with Mazda. A fair amount of parts from some years interchange.

Some people are just not keen on inexpensive imports and think they are junk. I have a neighbor that bought two new Kia's for the teenagers to drive, they are maybe two years old and have been great cars for them, very little warranty service needed.
