Leveling the trailer

I have a Jayfeather 221 and bought a new truck. The receiver is about 2 inches higher on the truck (the trailer was level before and towed nicely with just a sway bar).

Will the two inches make a difference in towing and sway or do I need to buy a new hitch and weld the sway bar ball on again. Thanks!

Usually nose high on travel trailers results in poorer handling (more sway). But really the only way to know for your truck and trailer would be to give it a try.

Likely it will cause sway issues. You want nose down as it creates consistent tongue weight. Nose high could cause erratic tongue weight going around corners, bumps etc. That would make it very difficult to control.

Not to mention uneven loading of the axles. Nose up will put more weight on the rear trailer axle. If it is significant enough, you may exceed the load rating.

If you have a WD hitch, most systems have a range of drops/rises available for the shank. You probably only need to buy that one piece for your system. It shouldn't be necessary to replace everything.
