I tell you working at the gm truck plant it is amazing how many trucks are being built that are already sold and we only build about one heavy duty for every 5 trucks and when it comes to diesels we only build one for about every 50 trucks so I can imagine they are hard to find and could have some wait time on special orders ...

The dealer called me back today and said she did a search and could not find any vehicles with my wants and thinks it may be best and quickest to order one. I didn't realize that there were only a certain number of engines, body types and colors made in a given year. I am not ordering a LTD (limited) hehehe

BTW thanks for letting me vent and giving me all the factoids that I knew nothing about.

I think it really says something when a guy working for GM has a F350 in his signature....

Don't do it.....
You have the best engine before all the emissions.
AN '07 with less than 100K is a unicorn. Keep it.

When I ordered my 2002 C3500 back in 2001, I was told there was a 4 month wait for the diesel. It's probably true.

Well as to why I am driving a F250 ... when I went looking for a newer tv I knew I wanted diesel, crew cab , long bed less than 100000 miles and a pretty good service history at a dealer. I looked at all the big 3 and really tried to find a gmc or chevy but all of them I looked at were def deleted and chipped, or no service history or just driven too hard. The dodge I looked at was a dually and didn't like the wheelhouses in back on that model then we looked at the one I bought and it had an impeccable service history at ford dealer, was the king ranch and looked like new. My wife liked it better than the others and it drove great. I also liked the acceleration on the Ford better than the Duramax. All three are great but this one fit me. Oh and as to the scoop on the 2017 diesel gmc and chevy I looked at one at the plant today and actually it looks pretty darn good

I am having a deja vu. Back in 2014, I was wanting a very specific GMC. I wanted the 1500 crew with max towing, big V8 and towing mirrors. Ordered it and was told it would come in 8 weeks. About 2 weeks later I was told "no can do". The big 8 was not available for 4 months because they were converting over to 8 speed. Ended up with smaller V8 and am very happy. Trailer mirrors was my downfall. Lots of trucks out there but apparently nobody want the trailer mirrors. I love them!

Since you work at a GM plant can you give me an idea when the 17's may be out or ready to be ordered?

Dang, I won't own one without clearance lights. The more bling and lights the better.

I got a call from the dealer today telling me that GM picked up my order and I should have my truck in 4 to 5 weeks.

Well would you look at that...you got all hot and bothered for no reason. Glad it worked out for you. Let us know how you like the new truck when you get it.

I'm not partial to spinners, but don't underestimate me. I've owned several low riders, and I still love them. Talk about confuse people when they see me one day in a low rider and the next day in a dually. I have sold all the low riders (Met my wife and had kids), but my wife knows I still love them. Now, I just get chrome and lights.

Come on now, I heard your humidity was only 145%, quit complaining...
