My 2004 Avalanche gets 7.5 pulling our 33RLDS 8600 lbs dry and we pack HEAVY.

I might see double digits occasionally not pulling But really don't drive it unless I'm pulling !

I usually get between 10-11 while towing. I am curious about those who get more than 11 mpg....what speed are you towing? I do not tow under 65 mph on the highway (unless that is the speed limit). I usually tow at 70-72 mph. Before anyone tries to chastise me for going over the rated speed for ST tires, I have sailun tires that have a much better speed rating. I have also found that it doesn't matter the weight or size of trailer, I always get the same mileage. (I think the truck's computer knows when you are plugged in).

I tow right on the button at 65.

On last trip to FL and back, I set cruise at 65 MPH on the way to and hand calculated 10.8 MPG (computer said 11.1). On the way back I set cruise at 70 MPH and hand calculate 9.9 MPG (computer said 10.1).

We just returned home from our vacation pulled just over 2400 miles round trip. Over all we averaged 11.6mpg 13.5on the interstate 9.6 through the blue ridge. Biggest thing I noticed was 65-67mph we gained almost 1.5 mpg on a tank then if we did 70+mph

Yep, speed kills mileage.

With my truck on the freeways I can get over 20mpg if I keep the speed below 75mph. At 80mph it goes down to about 17.

Trailer is same kind of difference. At 75mph I lose about 2mpg compared to 65mph. And, yes, my Goodyear tires are rated to go over 75mph. Most of my towing I do at 65mph just because I like that speed better.

2012 Nissan Titan, between 12 and 14 mpg. But that is mostly flat ground here in the Arizona and California deserts.

F 150 5.0 v8 scab WITH 3:31 Rear gears pulling 25Bh (30' bumper to hitch ball weighing in at 6K loaded, 23mpg best hwy not towing/18mpg avg in traffic not towing. When towing in Florida (flat lands) 11.5 -13.5mpg with the latter at 55mph , 79 degrees, & sunny. My worst case was 9-10mpg in the summer heat pulling up10,000 ft mtn range in Wyoming last year. I notice if its raining & warm to hot out (80-90's) mpg goes down. I guess the high D.A. plays into that. I also noticed if I jump speed from 55 to 60 mph, in tow, mpg drops about 1 - 1.5 mpg's so that 13.5 will go into the 12's & if I go 65mph another 1/2mpg drop =11.5mpg's. Aero dynamics is a big factor as well as head or tailwinds.

We just got a 2107 F150 EB with the max tow and 10 speed transmission to tow our 26ft 267BHS.
Last weekend we did a 500 mile round trip and averaged about 9.2 in the rolling hills of northern Minnesota. In the way up I kept it in tow/haul mode and got around 8MPG and on the way back I kept the tow haul mode off and did much better. It wont go above 8th gear on T/H and will use the engine as a brake when slowing down. That would be great in the mountains, but where I was it just wasn't necessary and used more gas than it was worth.
I was complaining for a bit that I did a little worse on mileage that I did with our 1500 Silverado 5.3L that we traded in, but I think the difference is that we hardly took the Chevy over 65mph as it would tend to hunt for gears too much and with the new Ford it got really easy to creep up to 70 mph or more which really killed the MPG.

On our shakedown/maiden voyage with our 2018 Pinnacle 36KPTS, little over 1,200 miles round trip I averaged 10.8 MPG with my 2016 F-350 Crew Cab SWB w/6.7 Power Stroke and 3.55 rear gear. Tried keeping it between 65/70 on the expressways and 55/60 on the two lanes.

new here just got a 2011 Octane 7500 lbs t26y... using a 2014 GMC 6.2L gas 3.73 gears, 6 speed... from MN to PA.. on they way out going 75 to 85 (crazy people in IL) averaged over 1000 miles 18mpg hand calculated

coming back not so much.. cruise set at 71 most of the time 7.8 MPG which to be honest isn't to bad considering it spent most of it's time in the 4K RPM range in the hills not loosing any speed that motor is a beast to the flat land...

I did a bit at 65 and it was close to 10.5 according to the lie-o-meter so subtract 1 MPG to 9.5 MPG ... but I was in a hurry and it wasn't worth going slow...

I had a 2010 Ford Diesel to compare it to and I would take the 6.2L gas all day long...

Second trip, 3 states (Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota) just over 1,600 miles round trip, same speeds 65/70 expressway 55/60 on two lane roads.
11.5 M.P.G. (Truck still has less than 28,000 miles)

Have 2017 Sierra Crewcab 1500 with 6.2 engine and 8 speed trans. Pull a 2017 Whitehawk 27 DSRL. This week pulled it in the Vermont mountains. Averaged 11 mpg using tow haul mode. Engine has plenty of power to pull this 7000 pound trailer.
