New shoes for my Eagle

In May of 2013, I replaced all 5 Marathon tires on on my rig with Goodyear G614's after having a spate of blowouts on the oe tires. Goodyear gave me an adjusted price due to the failures. Tread separation mainly.

I have not had any tire problems since that day. May 9, 2013. The price of G614's are roughly 3 times what I paid for them then. I am having all 4 tires replaced next week and hopefully have the same track record with these. Even though they showed hardly any wear or cracks they have close to 40K miles on them and have been in use for 9 1/2 years. I will be taking some longer trips in the future and don't need the worry about tire problems.

I plan to sell them locally to someone as trailer tires or whatever someone will use them for and re-coup some of the $$$.

My rims are rated for the tires and I ran them at 100psi.

Nort,
Sounds like my story. Think it was ‘14 when I replaced my TowMax bombs with 614’s. I replaced them last year with Endurance rubber. Damage to a sidewall caused the change, otherwise they still looked great. Had in the range of 30k miles on them. Awesome tires and totally bulletproof till I buggered a sidewall. But, on the rims they were HEAVY. Not too many miles on the Enduros yet but hope to get out more this spring.

The SAILUN S637 is equal to the 614s, but at about 60% the cost

We recently upgraded trailers and the new one came with Goodyear Endurance tires. I have many trailers including a 30 foot enclosed, a dump trailer, open car trailer, and a utility trailer. I have always used Maxxis 8008's on everything and never had a problem. I was tempted to remove the Endurance tires from my new camper sell them as take offs and replace with Maxxis but decided to just give the Goodyears a try...

I have heard good things about the Sailuns and have a friend that uses them. I did price them and you are right they are loads less expensive.

Got them installed on Tuesday, 12-6-2022. They replaced all metal valve stems with new ones as he said the rubber gasket looked old. All were balanced and inflated to 100psi. Including the spare. The replace tires are for sale for $100 each locally.

Looking forward to many more years of trouble free camping. I figured up that they had almost 32k miles on them since 10-3-2014.

Your new tires are LT, old ST, when I understand right.
Then most likely you went up in loadrating.
And then higher pressure is needed for the same load.

Can you comfirm this, and give the loadratings of old and new?
100psi indicates a G-load tire at 110 psi.
I assume sises the same, and what sise.?

That it took 9.5 years before the old ST gave treath separation, must say that your used pressure and care was alright.
But on the other side, treath separation is mostly courced by to low pressure used for the load and speed.
Only once overheating it gives, is needed to give ireverable damage, wich build up in time until mayby only after 3 years that far that tire blows or treath separates.
