Depends on whether they mean it is automatic or it just applies the trailer brakes when the TV brakes are applied, and\or manually applied.

sounds like to me in the wording that it senses truck and trailer sway and will apply truck or trailer brakes as necessary to correct sway condition

This is correct. I ordered my 2016 last year as well . Jayco replied to my question on Facebook answering that only models produced after 1/1/16 will have it.

Any thoughts on sway command?
We just bought the same model camper and it's prewired so I'm thinking about having it installed.
Our camper doesn't have a lot of sway without.
I'm using Equalizer WDH/sway. Like you I find it as added insurance.

I have a 2016 X213 with the sway control prep on it. My TV ,2010 F150 w/trailer brake and sway control. My dealer told me don't bother buying the sway control module for my trailer since it was already on my TV, but I did intstall weight distribution hitch.

Picking up a new 2016 Jay Feather 25BH and it has the sway control feature. The salesman says it's now standard on all trailers.

I'm not sure the whole unit is standard. I was told by Jayco customer service units built after end of Dec 2015 come standard "prewired" for the sway command.
We picked up our 2016 Eagle last month and it is prewired with stickers to show dealer where to drill for wires behind the fiberglass.
I have 2 dealerships trying to get with Jayco on cost of ordering the sway command head unit to add to our prewired camper. Problem seems to be Jayco hasn't responded almost as if they don't know. :/

I plan on renting a 24 ft travel trailer and will be towing it with a Silverado 2500 that is equipped with Stabilitrak and anti sway control. My question is whether or not I would need sway bars, which the trailer doesn't have, to safely make the trip. Plan on going to the mountains, which is about 300 miles one way.

Did you ask the rental dealer if they have them, the one I rented from had some old chain type units, you had to remove em to back up.

Since its a 24 foot and a 3/4 ton, you may be ok but i would lean towards having them in mountains. 1 good wind you could be in trouble.

Playing devils advocate here, how many people said that antilock brakes, traction control and hill accent/descent were overkill/not needed/waste of money... When these systems kick in, I appreciate them.

For some reason I can't find the Lippert Sway Command components anywhere online. Where do I buy these parts?

Rental place said since it's an ultra lite trailer they do not have or require them. With that said, is there a system that I could buy that is easily attached to a rental travel trailer?
