New Tires for my F250

Its time for me to think about getting new tires for my F250. I'm wanting all terains, but concerned about noise. My fallback is the Michelin Defender LTX. Tell me what AT tires you like best for noise/ride and overall capability.

I have Firestone Destination AT's on my Ram and the Bridegstone Dueler AT on my wife's truck. Both have been very good long term. The Bridegstones are a little more noisy than the Firestones. But, they seem to wear just a little better.

Oh, and for what its worth, the truck currently has stock Michelin LTX AT2 and I'm looking at going to 295/65-20 size on stock Ford wheels.

I put the B.F. Goodrich KO/2 on my 350 on the rear. Have Michelin’s on steering.

There is not too much road noise from them. Replaced the B.F. Goodrich All Terrains that came on truck new.
Check Simple Tire. They had B.F. Goodrich tires when no one else could even get them.

If you don’t want any tire noise........ go with Michelin’s

My Cooper's are all terrain an no noise. Also have a higher cargo weight rating than BF's.

I got the Michelins at Costco for under $1,000. Hard to beat that price!
No noise and they do well on the truck while pulling my rig.

I have no experience with your choices. I have the Falken Wilpeaks on my F-250 and they have been very good for the past 20k miles. They are a good tire and cheaper than some of the other ATs

I just upgraded my 17' F-250 4x4 to new Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT (LT 295/70R18). I measured them with a tape and it came out close to 34.5" tall. They're all terrain, not very loud and they still fit on my stock truck/rims.

I've read you can squeak in a set of 35" tires but I've come to learn the tire size isn't always the "actual" size. Tread patterns and air pressure probably have something to do with it as well. I was more concerned about the size causing rubbing, throwing off the speedo or affecting gearing for towing the trailer. Jump up to a 37" and you'll likely need a lift, stabilizer bars, speedo recalculated, new gears and I suspect you may need to modify the computer for ABS/speed sensor/engine lights.

I have the Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT and I will get them again when I need to get some tires.

I recently put General Grabber A/TX on my Jeep 4 door and liked them so much I just put a set on my F250. They get great reviews and are quiet and ride great.

I have Pathfinder AT's from Americas Tire on my Dodge Ram 2500.
They are not loud.

The truck we purchased in July had a set of new Nitto Terra Grapplers.

I thought they would be noisy but have been pleasantly surprised how quiet they are at road speeds.

It seems Nittos are surprising quiet.

Thank you all for your input. I'm still undecided but leaning heavily toward the Nitto Ridge Grapplers based on my research so far. Close second is the Toyo AT3. I have a little time to decide but having fun researching!

Just replaced the stock Goodyear AT Adventure/Kevlar with the Michelin Agilis Cross Climate. They top the Highway All Season ratings chart at Tire Rack, beating out the Michelin Defender. Severe Snow rated. Costco had them $30 cheaper than most other places plus $150 off a set of four back in February. So far I like them, quieter and smoother than the Goodyears. Have a long trip planned next month, we’ll see how they do towing.

My F250 came with Michelin LTX highway tires (265/20’s on stock rims). 40,000 miles and 3 years old, so thinking of replacing soon, even though still have some decent tread left. I would like to change to a more aggressive all-terrain tire, but don’t want to give up the great ride and confidence of an E rated tire on my truck that we use to pull an 11,000# fifth wheel with. Does anyone have or see any issues with moving the direction I’m thinking? On the other hand, I have no concerns with going back with the exact tire I have now, or one comparable to those. Thanks!

This is pretty much where I'm at as well - except my fall back is to get the Michelin Defender LTX.

In my research, I've narrowed it down to Toyo AT3 or Nitto Ridge Grapplers as my top 2. It seems the new Toyo is a great tire but louder than its predecessor, the AT2. The Ridge Grapplers, on the other hand, are more aggressive (hybrid AT and mud tire) but quieter (Nitto put efforts into making it as quiet as possible).

I've read mixed reviews on BFG KO2s though historically they are a good AT tire.

As long as its a load range E tire, you should be fine. I'm leaning toward the Nittos because they seem to tick the right boxes for me. They also have a 3-ply sidewall and I've heard tow very well.

I put the 20 inch General Grabber AT/X (3rd version I believe) on our 2016 F-250. About 5K miles and love them. They carry the mountain snow flake rating. Not noisy but great traction. Tow great.

Falken Wildpeak AT3W are also a great tire with the 3-peak/snowflake! I know it’s not on your list, but highly rated as an AT! Quiet with excellent road manners!

I have a 2016, F250, Lariet Crew Cab, 6.7 Power Stroke. I changed out the stock Michelin tires to the Cooper Discover AT3 XLT. Great tire. Does not make a lot of noise. Very smooth riding and has good grip on wet Pavement. I will get these again in the future. Another big plus for me is made in the USA. I don't think you would be disappointed with these tires.

My son has Nitto’s on his F250 and loves them—but he doesn’t tow anything!
