New to us TV!

We have a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD with the 6.0/4:10 rear end. It's been a good truck but has started a reoccurring issue with the throttle body, throwing a P2135 code. I have had it in various recommended shops and the dealer I bought it from. No one seems to be able to permanently fix it, very frustrating! I've lost all faith in the truck and can no longer deal with the dreaded "reduced engine power " issue. I started looking for a truck I've always wanted, Dodge truck with the 5.9 Cummins. Well....... I found it! A 2004 Dodge Quad Cab, 5.9 HO Cummins with 70K original miles! The outside has some parking lot scratches and two small dents in the tailgate where the original owner backed into a tree and the end of his driveway, but the inside is immaculate! It was an older gentleman that has had it and he decided to get something smaller to deal with his driveway issue. He gave me all of the service records for it which were all from the dealership, oil changes, etc, everything! We are very pleased with it. Night and day difference between the two trucks hauling our trailer which is a 28 BHBE. Love this truck and hope to have many years of service out of it. Also really like having a diesel that does not have any of the emissions requirements the newer ones have. I'll get a pic of it posted soon if anyone wants to see it. Thanks for reading my rambling, my first diesel and am very proud of it!

Congrats on the new truck. In regards to the old truck... Many years ago I had an '04 with the same issue. The shop said one of two things. First was a wire harness issue and they tried but that didn't fix it. The other was a sensor in the throttle body. The whole throttle body has to be replaced because the sensor is built in to it. They tried the harness first because it was quite a bit cheaper than a throttle body. Well the harness work didn't fix it so they put a new Oem throttle body and it still runs great to this day (friend of the family now owns it). Just an FYI in case you still have the Chevy and hadn't tried a throttle body....

The rules clearly state "without pics it didn't happen".

+1!

I had 2 neighbors that both bought old Dodge trucks with that Cummins diesel in them. Both haul 5ers, and both LOVE the upgrade. They would lose their minds over one with just 70K on the clock! Good find!

I could never get over the fact that their trucks had A LOT of miles on them when they bought them. Sure, the engine will run for a million miles, and they are arguably one of the best diesel engines (ever?) but the rest of the truck has still been beat to death! Everything from suspension to seats has seen better days (and I'm being nice). But those trucks will pull just about anything.
