New TV and Trailer

Hello all
So last month I went out and traded in my 01 F150 for an 06 F-350 Suoer Duty Crew Cad (extended bed). I did this because I had a feeling our current camper (01 Kiwi 23b) wasnt going to be around much longer due to the wife looking for an upgrade. So we just bought a 2011 Eagle 314bds. My F350 has the 8 cylinder engine (not sure of the axel rating). Will I have issue pulling this due to the "smaller" engine?
Thanks

First of all Congrats on your new purchase!

Check out http://www.trailerlife.com/images/to...ngs_p20_33.pdf and you can look up the tow ratings on your specific vehicle.

Your trailer has a spec dry (no gear) weight of 7,590, (but check the yellow sticker for as built weight) and it has a gross weight of 9,250

Looks to me like the lowest tow rating on a F-350 CC is somewhere around 8,100 on up to 15,000. Until you determine exactly what you have for a TV, you are not going to know what it is capable of.

Talking New TV

Gregga-- My guess you probably have 4:10 rearend gears, which you will need just to get the truck going, never mind the TT( just kidding). To check what you do have there should be a small thin metal tag hanging from one of the rearend differential cover bolts that should tell you the gearing you have. You could take the info from the door post tag, that has all the codes, to your local ford dealer for a breakdown, or find a web site that will do it. The door post tag has info you need not the vin #

That`s great towing gas mileage, for a gasser! Those new Dodges are nice. I get about 10 mpg. 11 on a good day. -Lee

Yeah that sounds more like the 2 Dodges I had with the old 318. Good engine but not so good on petrol.
