I just purchased a 2007 Designer 31 RLTS and have not brought it home yet.
Is there anyone pulling this RV with a short bed, fixed hitch, or do I have to get a Super Glide to make it work? Thanks in advance.

I pull a 2004 Designer 29RLTS, but with long bed and fixed hitch. With that said, my factory pin box sticks out far enough in front of the front cap that there is approx 4 1/2 feet between the front cap and the truck cab. With a short bed (assuming 6 foot) that clearance should be reduced to at least 2 1/2 feet, but hitches and pin boxes vary, so you would have to measure to be sure. Just assume that the pin would be directly over the TV rear axle, and calculate the clearance. If you have less than 2 feet, you will be limited on sharp turns while maneuvering. If more than 2 feet, you might be OK with short bed and fixed hitch. How sharp a turn you can make will also be affected by how much wider the trailer is than your truck. The wider it is, the more your turns will be limited. Hope this helps.

You dont have to get a glider but at some point you will forget and take out the rear window or dent the back of the cab... as the old saying goes you can pay your money now or pay it later...
