PINNACLE 37MDQS Tow Vehicle Question?

I am about to pull the trigger and order a 2021 Pinnacle 37MDQS. Looking at the Jayco brochure it lists the Hitch weight as 3,290lbs. I have a 2020 GMC 3500 Diesel SRW to tow it and although it states the max payload as 4185lbs I am worried that the SRW tow vehicle may not be enough. Is there anyone out there with a 37MDQS towing with a SRW?

I'm not saying you can't & I think after you load everything up you'll be maxed out (or close to it), but I think you'll be alright. Lots folks on here tow that heavy with a SRW. I used to tow our NP (same layout you're looking at) with a 2500. It just wasn't a "comfortable" drive for me, so I upgraded to the 3500 DRW. I'm sure you'll ge lots of opinions, but do what makes you comfortable.

Our 5th is 39’ and last time I scaled it tipped the scale at 12700# with 3000# on the pin. You are starting at almost 3300# on the pin, so it’s not hard to believe you will have around 4000# on the pin in “travel” mode. Our TV is not overloaded but if much heavier and we would be. IMHO you are in dually country. Use the GVWR of your future 5th and multiply by 0.25, that’ll be a rough estimate of the pin weight in a worst case scenario (loaded to the max). Likely you won’t be that heavy but it’s a starting point.
Another suggestion would be to pay a visit to the CAT Scale, the rear weight subtracted from the Rear GAWR will be close to a max pin weight before overloading the rear axle.
The CAT Scale is your friend.

Thank you to all that replied with advice/comment on my question. I really appreciate the fact that you are so willing to share your experience and advice.

Reflecting further upon the question, I realize that I failed to mention that my truck, a 2020 GMC 3500 SRW Diesel brings with it the first year that GMC substantially enhanced the towing capabilities of this vehicle. Somehow I will have to figure this enhanced capability into how I proceed. Regardless I will always err on the side of safely.

That much pin weight, I would go dually, which I actually did.

Beyond the more stable tow dynamics, I thought a lot about how the truck would react if I somehow had a sudden flat on a rear tire with a single wheel. With that much pin weight, I did not want to bet on the physics of that going my way should the flat occur. So dually.
