Question for you Prodigy P3 users

I recently returned from a 2000 mile trip to Florida and back with my 2015 Mercedes Sprinter van. I have a Tekonsha Prodigy P3 installed on that van. Anyway, the other day in Orlando, we were stopped for approximately 15 min in traffic. We just had the van with no trailer attached. When the traffic started moving again, I noticed that the controller had switched to the screen showing gain as if I was connected to a trailer. It continued showing brake input as if I was towing for a couple of minutes. Then, it showed the typical red no trailer connection warning and went to the rest screen as it always does when driving empty.

Any thoughts? Has anyone experienced something similar? The controller works fine. I just sort of curious as to how it would have sensed the presence of a trailer when there wasn't one there.
