The only thing I can think of is it came loose and the play let it get bent.

When going through an deep incline it will have an additional force on the brackets.
I use and 1/2 x 2" aluminum plate on the back where the screw is. Also it is important the chains hang straight when truck and tt are inline.

The following JOF thread link may be helpful..., although dated the info for the most part still applies. Also, most WDH manufactures recommend at "least" 5-chain links "under tension", any less can create snap-up bracket issues.

My Reese Dual Cam is 12-plus years old and still preforms great!

Reese dual cam bent snap up bracket

I think it bent when we was making a turn that put the truck kind of leaning to the left and the TT leaning to the right. Luckily a maintenance man at the campground had a used bracket and gave it to me really nice man he looked almost offended when I offered to pay him for it. Anyway I still love this hitch system. I looked on line and saw that Reese makes a set of heavy duty brackets that I will be ordering soon.

Rustic eagle. Thanks for the link. Wish I had saw that when I bought my WDH I would have got the heavy duty brackets then.

I had the same issue. There is a reinforced bracket available.

hbravo,

Do you have any information/pics on the "reinforcement" bracket?

your bent bracket happened to me as well. I have the same hitch as you.
I sourced the heavy duty/reinforced bracket from hitch world (or some such source).

they install just the same as the one you bent. I haven't had any issues since.
