Scooter carrier on Fifth Wheel

I'm looking for a scooter carrier to haul a Honda Metropolitan scooter on the back of an Eagle fifth wheel. I'm looking at a motorcycle carrier from Discount ramps model MX-600x. The scooter is 179 lbs and the carrier is 64 lbs...so it meets the weight requirements for the rear hitch. I plan on hauling the scooter on a 2017 Eagle 321 RSTS.

Has anyone used the MX-600x carrier from Discount Ramps?

IMO, you need to consider the forces generated by the weight of the scooter & carrier on the RV frame while rolling down the road. Rough roads/bumps/pot holes, etc, and the resulting bouncing will generate significant forces on the hitch and bumper.

I would look into putting a receiver on the front of your truck and mounting/carryiing the scooter there. Or look into a HF trailer to tow behind the FW with the scooter on the trailer, or any small utility trailer to carry the scooter.

I use a very similar carrier on the back of our NorthPoint and carry a Honda Grom which is 238#'s. I've hauled it many miles back there with no issues. The hitch is frame mounted and rated for 500#. I do attach one of my tie down straps around the bumper which takes the bounce out of the hitch/receiver setup. I used to carry the Grom on a front hitch on my truck and really got tired of watching it bounce around up there.
