Spare Tow Vehicle

Picked up a 2000 Dodge Durango 4x4, 5.9 (360), factory tow package, 3.55 axle, with 43k miles for the wife to use in the snow if we get any this winter. I put a brake controller on it today just in case I need a spare tow vehicle. The 5.9 should pull the 17Z (3500 lbs) well but I still plan to use my E-350 Chateau V-10 as my primary tow vehicle.

Has anyone else used a first generation Durango (98-03) for towing their Jayco?
