Tekonsha 90160 Primus IQ Brake Controller

I bought the Tekonsha 90160 Primus IQ Brake controller last year for my Pathfinder when I aquired my Pop-up. However, I never did get it installed. Now that I'm going to be purchasing a bigger camper, I will need trailer brakes and a controller. The consensus seems to be that the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 or P3 are the best. Is the P2 or P3 better then the Primus IQ?

Thanks,

John

The P2/P3 are probably "better", but the Primus is also a proportional controller so I would just stick that one.

So long as its not a time delay controller you're much better off! My first one was a time delay type and it sucked.

I use the Primus IQ (see my sig for my rig) and have had virtually no problems with it. The only thing that did happen was the boost button got stuck when I had to hide it in the console (I was in a questionable neighborhood) and I think it got bumped pretty hard when I tossed it in there. I just grabbed my pocket knife, pried up the button, and all is well again...

I run a Primus IQ as well with my 35' Designer fifth wheel. It works so MUCH nicer than the old time delay controller I had before. I don't know how much difference (stopping power) there really is between the Primus IQ and the P2 and P3 outside of all the extra bells and whistles you get with the last two.
