Back to the shop again for the same old problems plus a new one it shows all sorts of codes. A new code every 75 miles or less...... So my wife has had enough this is how we cured all the problem.

My 2006 F250 with the 6 liter navistar diesel was the worst truck I've ever owned from a maintenance perspective. Ford stopped using their motors as a result of the horrific problems with them. I could write a book explaining all of the problems, but if you've ever owned one of those, you probably already know most of them. I'll buy another diesel truck at some point, but that one was a total turd wagon.

One of my friends worked in the body shop of a Ford dealership back in those days. The service department had to replace the engines in several brand new diesel pickups that hadn't even been sold yet. They had to pull the cab to change out those engines.

Personally, I believe the federal government has ruined the diesel pickup in this country. I'll never own one. My 20 year old 454 dually doesn't pull a trailer all that fast and doesn't get very good gas mileage, but it's really cheap to own.

So far, my 6.2 seems to do the job. But if I get a trailer any heavier than what I have, I'll need the torque from a diesel. The first auto manufacturer that comes up with a 800 lbft. plus gas engine from the factory will be catapulted to #1. But of course, you'll have 1200 lbft. diesel engine as well by that time as well. The Big Torque Race continues.

As much as I loved my '14 6.7L F350 dually it started with DEF and sensor failures. I made the decision to get a '14 Expedition with the 5.4L. I lost confidence in the 350 and the sudden DEF/emission failure will leave you idled. It's a tough choice but in my case it was a necessary one.
