Tire Pressure
So I was checking the pressure in the TT this afternoon and noticed that all 4 tires are at 35PSI. I have not touched them since I picked it up from the dealer. The max cold pressure says 50PSI. Am I right in saying that it should only be at 50PSI if the TT is at its max GVWR? or should it always be at 50PSI no matter the loaded weight of the trailer?
In terms of the TV, the trailer when loaded to the max is about 2/3 of the max GVWR for the TV. So should the TV tire pressure be good to stay the same or add a few pounds?

Is 50PSI your MAX cold temp. pressure, or is it greater and you find 50 works best?

50 PSI cold is my max pressure on the 15" ST tires on my trailer. I believe the yellow sticker on the trailer also suggests 50 lbs. I also keep my boat trailer tires at max pressure. Not sure if I`m right, but I`ve never had a blowout or any other dramatic tire related events, knock on wood!

I always run the trailer with the cold pressure stated on the tire. D=60, E=80.
On the truck, I run what the door sticker says.

Count me among the "max cold inflation pressure" crowd for my trailer's tires. That's the pressure that provides the maximum rated load value for the tire. Would also think maximum pressure would also create the least heat buildup, and with ST tires less than stellar reputation............well it just seems prudent.

I run the max pressure too (50 psi). If you run them at a low PSI your side walls will not be as stiff (more bounce and play), which will cause more sway. I had this happen to me this spring when I did not check the pressure before a trip, and found them to be about 40 psi when we got home. I was only able to tow at 55 mph MAX or the combo was just all over the road. I have to admit we had extremely high winds that day, so that may have been part of the equation.

Max pressure on truck and trailer when towing. I think my sidewalls say 65# on the trailer.

Always max pressure on both 5er and TV for me. Both have load range E tires, so 80psi in both.

X2 - trailer sticker says 65psi which is sidewall rating. Run door sticker on the truck which is 70psi as I'll never overload the "E" load range tires on the truck. If in doubt run max. Ride might harsher but it's under inflated tires that overheat and blow out. IMO.

Max pressure on TT and max pressure on rear tires on truck due to extra weight on back axle. Run door sticker pressure on front tires.

I run max listed pressure for less rolling resistance.. and in theory better mileage..

My 5er runs 65 cold. My truck door placard load rating is at 65, but my tires max load rating is 80 so I run 80 on the truck.
