Tires

I should get tires before I take my trailer out, although they are in good appearance and no cracks tread is fine, I actually think he hardly ever used this trailer, the dealer feels no hurry based on condition and tread wear.Unless this season I plan on a lot of miles. they are 10 years old based on the Id that all of you helped me find. Question is " Bias or radial, I anticipate 1000 miles this season they are 185 80R 13 I will keep two of them for spares just in case.
double axle too.
Thoughts ??

I believe ST tires should be changed at 5 years from MDF date regardless of miles or tread condition. Based on that I think you should replace your tires.

Additionally I would not have a 10 yr old spare either.

Last year I purchased my current 2004 Jayco At the time I checked the tires and as you did Mine were in good "appearance and no cracks tread is fine" I did not check the date of manufacture. All of my trips with the TT were 82 miles one way. In Aug we made a trip and when we arrived I found that one of the tires had started to separate. I then put the spare on and made the trip back home. On the very next trip a second tire started to separate. This time I did not take the TT back home as I found a storage place close to the campground the we go to. When I got home I decided to order 5 new tires. I looked around and found that Discount Tires Direct had a nice sale going on at the time and was able to order 5 new Maxxis M8008 ST 185/80R13 tires for $335.00 Suggest you check them out and they are also on e-bay They do run special sales every so often. The tires I replaced were the original tires on the TT the date of MFG was 2003 They were 12 years old when replaced. I always checked my tires before each trip and also checked air pressure. My feelings were if the original Maxxis tires lasted that long then that is what I would get for replacements. I was lucky in that no damage happened to the TT and I also learned a valuable lesson about tires. Looks can be very deceiving. Attached are pics of the old tires.
