to balance or not

I wouldn't want a whole lotta shakin goin on as we roll down the road so should I have the new tires balanced. I'm hearing that some people don't bother with any vibration being insignificant.

I would get them balanced IMO. It's a personal preference, no right or wrong answer. It's your trailer.

You balance your car and truck tires. The reason is a smoother ride and the tire/wheel doesn't hammer the bearings. Also, during balancing they might find one that requires too much weight because either the wheel casting or tire is bad.

"Your tires will wear down prematurely when the wheel assembly isn't balanced – and you may be in for some not-so-good vibrations. ... Even a quarter of an ounce of imbalance can put uneven pressure on the treads, causing uneven tread wear and excess heat that shorten the life of the tire."

Thank you to everyone that replied. I am happy to say that I did get them balanced and they certainly needed it. I have been RVing only a couple of years and it is clear to me that most people I meet are glad to help another camper owner.
