Ya, I think that's right.

This isn't something that will happen under normal circumstances, so I don't see that there's anything wrong with your setup so long as the measurements all check out on your new tow vehicle.

Those little L shaped brackets that you install on top of the bars are there for this situation. They keep the bars from lifting totally off the bracket the bars rest on after install. I also have the Centerline hitch and couldn't be happier with its performance.
