Especially if they have a Chevy 1/2 ton 2000-2006 model 5.3L with a 4.10 gear-set ratio! My Tahoe is a 2 wheel drive 3.42 gear-set with 125,000 miles on it. I'm considering putting a re-manufactured rear end on it with a 4.10 gear-set ratio. I have had really good luck keeping machines running a long time (possibly because of a rigorous no beat-on-it philosophy). I'd venture to guess that the higher gear-set ratio would be in line with that philosophy.

There are threads discussing the above motor/gear-set combination so I have a fairly good idea what to expect, so much good information on the forums! I'll probably be hauling my trailer with the same Tahoe 15 years from now (seriously).

I agree it isn't good to hijack this thread but since it is over 2 years old I think the statute is over...

Agreed. I wanted to call specific attention to the OP's because information such as this is extremely helpful. There are a lot of people who take a lot of time sharing their expertise for the benefit of others. I should pass along more information in that spirit.
