I pull our 336FBOK with a Ram 6.4 and have no shortage of power.
Maybe the diesel would be better but it’s a lot of added cost to up grade trucks at today’s prices.

Towing our 2015 321 rsts with a 2009 2500HD, extended cab, long box, 4:10, 6.0, 6 spd trans. Max tow rating on truck is 12,300; GVW of 5er is 12, 500.

Truck is base 'work truck' so I have some extra payload capacity without all the bells & whistles.

Have towed through Rockies on I90 and all the way to Alaska & back with no issues whatsoever. Truck handles towing flawlessly. 8-9 mpg but it does get thirsty (6.x on long climbs and headwinds.

We have a 38’ Pinnacle and pull it with a Silverado 3500HD w/8’ bed and have never had a problem. We have a good friend who has a similar 5th wheel with a 6.2 and has never been satisfied with its towing ability, especially hill climbing.

Please don't let this become a gas vs diesel debate. I am just looking for to see if anyone is doing it (what are you pulling) and how the truck does? It pulls my Eagle 314BHDS well but it does scream at times

Thanks!
What rear end ratio do you have. Big difference from 3.73 to 4.10 with capacity.

Our original tow vehicle was an 07 Silverado 2500HD, 6 liter Vortec with 6 speed auto and 4:10 gears. Also had towing and plow package and Z71 pkg. Our new tow vehicle is a 2018 Silverado 2500 HD High Country with the same basic setup but no Z71 pkg. We are towing a 2018 Eagle HT 27.5 RKDS and have had no problems with either truck here in New England.

See my signature. No problem at all, have to check the inside rearview every once in a while to make sure the view isn't changing.

[edit] We are doing fine with the 3.73 rear end (more common) and 5er at about 9500 pounds.

Haven't done any mountain climbing yet - we will be doing that on an "out West" trip this spring. Flat land mileage is about 9 mpg.
