I had a set of McKesh. One trip of sixty miles on wet gritty roads and the straps had scuffed the paint on both doors. After a 700 dollar trip to the bodyshop and a short walk to the dumpster,the McKesh problem is gone. I use the rubber ratchet ones now; not the greatest but OEM will set me back close to a grand at this point.

I was concerned that my Cipa mirrors might scuff up the paint on the backside of my mirrors so I put a paper towel between them when installed.

Heck, my 10 year old Avalanche has power extend mirrors and didn't cost nearly that much.

Each if us have our own experiences with the same product. You had a problem with yours and I have been using mine for over 3 years with no problems with the I mirrors or truck.
I have heard others have had he same problem you did. And May who have not.

Can I ask where you bought yours and how much? Another question, do they add alot of width to the truck, I park in a parking ramp for work and I'm not sure if they will fit. Thank you for the insight.

I have the CIPA mirrors for my 2012 F150, and they do work, but as soon as I can convince the DW I am gonna upgrade to the Ford Accessory extendable mirrors. They are expensive even at my price (I work for a Ford dealer) but seem to be well worth it. Maybe I convince her that I wouldn't hit the house with the trailer (again) with them... lol

It will be more expensive, but a dealer should be able to get the factory mirrors for you. I have them and love them. They are a $40 option, so cost may not be too bad.

I'm not a Toyota man, but I did see this. Don't know if this is your model truck or not. If not then maybe it will give some useful info.
