According to the fuel consumption on the trip computer of the truck, it was at 14 MPG.
The route is what is called the Okanagan Connector and the Coquihalla Highway. The Connector is 220 KMs (140 miles) and its highest elevation is 5760 feet above sea level. The southern Coquihalla, which we travelled is another 120 KMs (75 miles) and is also another very mountainous route. The route is four lanes (two each direction) with speed limits of 110 to 120KMs per hour (70-75 MPH). It's a fast road, with a ton of semi-truck traffic as well, but if you stay in the right lane it's ok. And there are lots of extra passing lanes too because the big trucks have to go so slow up and down.
As I mentioned on another thread, this is the route that is often featured on the "Highway to Hell" tv series -- although most of the episodes are filmed in the winter.
Nonetheless it's a good challenge for hauling any trailer.
