You can Tow any 5th wheel you want to, my friend said he was very surprised that the $ money difference was not as much as he thought it would be. Considering he was looking at pretty well equipped truck models. Before he bought the Ram 4500 he had a 3500 dually….
Some 450's have less payload than 350's do. I've seen a Ford F350 side by side comparison to an F450 both trucks with similar packages (Ultimate I believe). Both trucks had the same leaf springs, rear axle ratio and diesel engine. The only noticeable difference was the 450 had different front suspension. And the 450 had LESS payload than the 350.

Don't forget that the F450 has a better turning radius than the F350. Wish GM had that.

Be safe -

Some of your statements on differences are not true. The 350 doesn’t have 430 rear gear doesn’t have the larger brakes and commercial wheels and tires hence the larger payload

RGAWR 10,500 lbs
Curb Weight 8,779 lbs

Max Tongue Weight 4,665 lbs

You are correct. When I said "both trucks" I should have included that I was referencing the side by side comparison I was speaking of. Point was just going to a F450 doesn't automatically give you more payload.

Nice!

With that payload you could put our trailer in the bed and still have almost 1,000 lbs of payload still available

I tow a 2018 Jayco Eagle HT 29.5 FBDS 5th wheel. Much lighter than your rig but just wanted to reinforce what some have said about pin weight. Jayco says my dry pin weight is 1595 lbs. my actual pin weight (scaled weight) is 2090lb. That is 24% greater than the dry pin weight in the brochure so be aware that pin weights can vary greatly based on how you load your trailer. You don't want to have to weigh everything you want to take along and be so careful. Camping is about the journey and you want that to be fun and safe. A dually is so stable, solid, and comfortable to drive. If you ever tow with one you won't want anything else. Happy Camping and God Bless!
