Question Towing with a 24B or 24L

Looking for some real world weight/towing numbers on the Redhawk 24B and the Melbourne 24L. I've never towed with an RV before.

We are a family of 5 (3 little ones) so I have a feeling we'll have a lot of stuff. I assumed the diesel would tow more but reading comments on here about it towing make it sound like loaded it will tow closer to 2k lbs within limits.

The similar floor plan Redhawk (24B) looks like it has a lot more wiggle room for towing.

Can anyone chime in and tell me what I should be looking at/for to make the right decision. I need to tow something large enough for 5 (plus trailer/FROG/etc weight).

I believe the 24L (Mercedes V6) has a 5000 towing capacity, while the 24B (Ford V10) has a 7500 towing capacity. If towing is a concern, I'd lean towards the higher capacity.

The 24L was going to be our first choice, but then I spotted the 24B with basically the same floor plan. I wasn't crazy about the MB chassis, and when the 24B was built on the E450, that sealed the deal for us.

Plus, a $20K difference in price didn't hurt either....
