The sensor idea is ok but it will cause the battery to go down faster. We have fashioned a small cover very similar to the old windshield covers on old time cars. Like a sunscreen. Basically a tent over the top to block sun.

There are a good many out there. I am sold on the TST products, mainly because that's what I bought and am very satisfied with. Many do not tell you that you need metal valves stems but that is what I recommend. Sometimes the flexing of the sensor on the stem can cause air to leak out enough to bring in a alarm or even fatigue the rubber enough to crack it.
Short metal stems solves that possibility. They do not seem to affect the tire balance.
also, on very long rigs, some manufacturers have a signal booster available. The TST that I have does not need it.

Batteries last longer in the 510 but you have to send it in to get them replaced. Sensors aren't flow thru but I don't think that's a big deal.

My first set lasted just short of 5 years. They just send you a new set and you send the old ones back.

Going to order the TST507. Some of them say RV after the model number i.e. TST 507rv others say just TST507. Is there a difference or is it just the way it's advertised?

Quick follow up question - I am looking to pull the trigger on a system as well but I like to check my tire pressures with a gauge prior to each trip. Is that the purpose of "Pass through" sensors? I also don't want to have to remove sensors to add air. I have zero experience with TPMS systems.

Well I stopped at Goodyear and they wanted $20 per tire plus valve and tax. That's $100 for valves. I think I'll wait till these Raniers wear out and get valves for $3 with the new tires.

Go to a Auto supply and buy them 2 for $5.00. 1 1/2 inch long. Have a few on hand for when you need them because tires stores don't normally stock them and will have to order them or purchase locally and cost more.
I don't think there is a difference between the RV designation but a quick call to TST can clear it up quickly. They are very personable.

Whoohoo. Been waiting to order my TPMS. Finger is on the check out button. Just noticed it dropped $90 smackers. Should I wait till cyber Monday to see where it goes or pull the trigger and buy buy buy. Geez this is like Wall Street
