Traded in the Journey

On the weekend camping with some friends the DW and I decided the Journey wasn't quite the TV we needed. Yesterday we went to our dealer and traded it in for a 2012 Ram 1500 with the 5.7L HEMI which I think will do a better job in the mountainous region we live in. If we didn't have to go uphill in pretty much every direction out of the city maybe the Journey would have lasted longer! With my wife talking about going to Yellowstone again next year I knew the Journey wouldn't cut it.

Can't wait to get the hitch set up and see how it pulls!

I'm sure you will be pleased with the up-graded TV..., now you can enjoy the long distance views while towing through the mountains.

I guess I will find out on the 19th as the DW has decided we are going to drag the trailer over the Rockies to visit her brother and his family in Edmonton for a few days. That should be a good test.

The Ram will be much better than the Journey.

I drive a journey for my company car, I couldn't imagine towing with it...mine is '11 with 75k miles and I'm on my 3rd set of brakes. Mine continue to warp rotors, I understand the '10 model had the brakes recalled for being undersized...but some how they say mine are correct and that 20-25k miles is to be expected. I'll be ordering my new company car in Nov, I can't get rid of the Journey soon enough.

We loved the Journey as a family car, plenty of room for the dogs and kid and DW and myself to travel in comfortably with plenty of storage but any incline of more than a few degrees it was slow going. My wife drove the ram today and fell in love with the big truck and remembers why she loved her dad's blazer back when she first started driving lol.

I did have the Journey's brakes smoking when we got back into town on Monday with the trailer so I'm not sorry we replaced it though.
