I want to order some running boards for my 2009 Dodge 2500 Cummins.

I want running boards..... NO ROUND BARS.

Any you really like?

Thanks

I’ve always had deezee. Some like them, some hate them. To me on a dually they have function and a good look. I shoot for function first. Don’t see many on the 3/4’s though.

I picked up these Westin HDX bars last year so far I really like them. Not the normal cookie cutter bars.

Get on Amazon and look them up under Westin running boards. I bought classic running boards for my '07 F-150. Order the specific mounting brackets and you got a great (and strong) set of running boards.

Westin is the best on the market and easy install with their brackets. Most are straight bolt up.

The new Fords F250 and up have a very tall step in height. At work, we had to put nerf bars on a new F550 because it was too tall for my 5’4 coworker to easily get in.

I have these power steps on my truck. They are designed to be midway between the door sill and the ground when they are deployed. DW was having a hard time with the standard step that is higher off the ground.

As others have said, Westin makes a great product. I went with Westin vs. the SOB that I had on my previous trucks and couldn't be happier.

I'm not sure you will find boards for $300 or less.
I put Westin 5 inch oval tubes on my '16 Ram. They have a slight inward bend on the ends that I think look better than being straight.
I had 3 inch round bars on my older Ram and I think the oval tubes look much better.

Plenty on ebay for less than $300, even less than $200.

I don't need the best, just some that help getting into the truck.

Thanks for the replies.

I have the factory mopar wheel to wheel steps on mine. Very happy with them. Not sure if they would fit your year though. I steered away from aftermarket after the westins i installed on my tundra.

You will also need a Mounting hardware Mopar #68193128AB. you can get this at Amazon for $30. You know you will need them if there is open hexagon holes in the frame where the running board mount if you decide to use OEM boards. I had cheap knock offs on my last 2013 ram from westin and they were junk and hated them and my new 2017 are now oem and love them and way better made.

Amp power steps they actually go down far enough to be useful and don't look hideous sticking out the side of your truck...

2 years ago I went with the regular AMP Powerstep, the Extreme wasn't out yet and the XL does not fit with the 2016 Diesel Silverado's because the DEF tank is in the way. But the regular powerstep comes down low enough for my wife to get in with her disability, and retracts up next to the body. We looked at 3 other Silverado fixed running boards (all 4x4 1500's, son, brother-in-law and nephew) and my wife had a hard time getting in. it also has a 3" extension to lower more which we didn't get/need. Also has LED lights that come on when lowered, great at night to see the step.

Truck Running Boards

I just bought a new 2018 Ram 2500 4x4. I wanted something a little different so I opted for these Aries AdvanTEdge boards. All aluminum, bolt on, angular ends and have an interesting design. The “mesh” on the outside is removable and provides good traction. They come in black or silver, or mixed. A little pricey, around $400+, but different looking.

Be careful with the plastic on top. Mine split and there are over 1500 on back order. I finally found one in orlando when we in disney. Must be pretty bad with so many on back order.

I just put on a pair of Tyger brand running boards (squarish design) I got from Amazon for $199. They are a offshore brand but the fit and black finish were very good for the price.
