Be careful with your payload on the Tundra. Payload capacity is slightly lower than 1400 lbs. You will have to include your cap, tongue weight, passengers, and all cargo. Very easy to get to 1400. I have a 2012 Tundra CM with 5.7, 4.3, tow etc...

Many standard WDH's can be up-graded with a Reese HP Dual Cam, saving the expense of a whole new WDH w/sway control. The Reese HP Dual Cam (#26002) can be purchased as an "add-on" to an existing standard WDH resulting in a WDH with integrated sway control (same thing as the Reese Strait Line WDH).

Just a thought.

Thanks guys. The payload will definitely have to be watched. I threw 640# in the bed (simulated load with sand bags), set the hitch up so the front fender height remained where is was before the camper was hitched and went for a ride. I have to say it pulls quite a bit better than the Ram and handled the weight really well. We have the camper loaded as if we are heading out, 2/3 tank of water etc. It was a little squishy feeling but I am sure it is the P rated tires at stock air pressures. I will have to bump them up to 44 psi max per the sidewall. Gotta read about the TPMS first though.

Not sure that will work with my hitch. I have round bars that are flat on the end but straight.

Upgraded trucks to a Tundra
My brother in law has the exact same setup, minus the sway bars. He installed air bags and says it made a huge difference. Nice mount job of the prodigy by the way. Tundra's are great trucks.

Congrats, new vehicles are the greatest! Now that my truck is paid off I promised myself that I wouldn't get anything new for a while. LOL

Thanks a lot guys! I wasn't planning on buying until next spring but when they offered more for my Ram than I could sell it outright...just had to. I do love the new truck smell...especially when you are burning off all the undercoating on the exhaust and engine and tranny!

I gotta say I am very impressed with the pulling power! It out pulls my old Hemi no problem at all! I was able to accelerate and pass vehicles (in the slow lane) on hills the Ram would only slightly gain speed. I also got 12% - 13% better fuel economy and I was driving it as hard as normal. I usually got about 8 mpg with the Ram and got 9.05 mpg with the Tundra. Seems weird to see the gas gauge drop faster than the Ram but then I remember the Tundra is only 26 gallons where the Ram was 34!

I had the same truck and just traded it on a F250. The truck was a stump puller, but short on payload which I wanted. I had no problem with how it pulled my 8000 lb. trailer. Yo will have no problem at all pulling your trailer, but you will need anti-sway.

Yeah really! I bet I would still feel the 19H as they still move a ton of wind!
I added a Reese friction bar I had bought with our old 232 and towed with an AWD Astro so hopefully that will suffice for sway control. I also got a call that my new ARE V-series cap is in. Hopefully I can get it installed Friday for our next week long camping trip starting...Friday!
