Using Lippert Strap Tek with Blue Ox way Pro

Folks,

Would be interested in hearing from anyone who uses the Strap Tek system instead of chains with their Blue OX Sway Pro.

Blue OX emailed back and said they dont recommend because they had not done any testing..... however there are some reviews say that it works great.

I'm using Strap Teks with my Blue OX 2,000lb WDH. Used the chains for most of the 1st season then switched to Straps. Have had zero issues using them except for user problem. Way way easier to hitch and unhitch. My TW is around 1350lbs so there's a good bit of stress on the straps and the gearing for the straps. Only issue I should say is I broke one of the shear pins by tightening at a goofy angle one time. Had a 16 penny nail on hand so I temporarily stuck it in there. LOL never removed it as it works fine as is.

I will say though that I'm not all that happy with my BO. I will be switching out hopefully this season to a Weigh Safe. I don't like the soft cushy ride and IMO a lack of sway control with either the chains or straps.

I tow a 31' 9600lb TT with a 19 Ram 3500 CTD so I have plenty of truck. I've used the straps for 3 seasons. I leave them uncovered on the trailer all winter in Oregon so mostly rain or clouds all winter. They look and work like new still.

Here's a video showing the different WDH's and how they all perform against each other.

I use the Straptek and I like it. Performance is the same as chains but hooking/unhooking is quicker and easier, usually without having to use the tongue jack. On the road adjustments literally take 1 second.

Make sure you buy the kit when it's on sale. Full price is way too much money.
