Van towed the 2011 X17z home!

Hello everyone,

I brought the 2011 X17z home today from the dealer, 200 kms home on the first trip. My TV is a 2005 Pontiac Montana SV6. Weight Distrubution hitch and sway control arm along with a trany cooler installed. It worked well but not the best. Drove about 100kms at around 2800 rpms and watched the gas gauge move quick. The van ran well and I could increase speed if needed but you could definately feel the trailer behind you which I expected. Until i get a new TV we plan on staying around 1-2 hrs from our house anyways but it should be fine.

Thanks for everyones help on this site prior to my purchase and thanks to the Van owners who told me i could do it but it would be stressfull which it was.

first camping trip next weekend

Hahaha. We recently drove our new Hybrid home (2010 17z) with a Grand Caravan. 1200kms! No WD either. It was brutal on hills and the mileage sucked. We have since switched to a Jeep 4door Wrangler and it's been sooo much better. Same tow rating though (3600lbs) 17Z is a sweet trailer and well worth the pain. Have fun!
