WDH for Big Eagle TT
I have the combo in my sig. with a tongue weight of 1800 lbs i can only find the Blue ox sway pro WHD to tow it with. just wondering if anyone uses something different with a trailer that heavy.

Reese makes a 1,700lb rated WDH with Integrated Sway Control (Reese Strait-Line #66075). The Reese gets you closer to your 1,800lb tongue weight then the 1,500lb Blue Ox.

I've had my Reese Dual Cam WDH (Strait-Line) rated at 1,500lbs for 10-plus years and still performs well. My retired '05' Eagle had a 1,300lb loaded tongue weight.

My Blue Ox Sway Pro BXW2003 is rated at 2000# TW and 20,000# GTW and using it with my Eagle 330RSTS with a tongue weight of just over 1600#.
Isn't that what your using John? Problems with it?

Yes, it’s set up correctly but the big trucks still pushing me off the road on the trip from Florida back to New York really don’t know what to do. Maybe i need a dually.

Wow! I have used mine now pulling our 330RSTS during 3 different trips between Florida and Michigan and if I get anything at all when trucks pass or encounter strong cross winds, it's nothing more than a gentle "nudge" where the trailer and truck move together.
But then again, all my travels have been on 4 lane interstates so I can't speak to how it would react if I encountered a semi going the opposite way on a 2 lane road.

Just curious, what percentage of your TT's gross loaded weight was the 1,800lbs?
I assume the 1,800lb figure originated from a CAT scale visit.

I used a tongue scale. However on a CAT scale the trailer took 460 lbs off the front axle and placed it on the rear axle. So does the WDH now have to lift the weight that is on the rear axle (2,260 lbs).

John,
The main design function of a WDH is to return the TV's front suspension integrity back to it's "unhitched" condition ......., ideally this means returning the 460lbs back to the front of your TV. I attempt to get a WDH return weight adjustment plus/minus 50lbs of target return weight if possible (many variables come into play..., suspension, etc.).
The WDH not only removes/distributes weight off the rear axle, it also supports some weight as well....., especially TV cargo weight placed behind the TV rear axle. During the WDH adjustment process, there is some incremental weight removed from the TV's axle and distributed back to the TT axles as well.
When a TV/TT combination is traveling down a highway physics comes into play, the weight placed on a TV's front suspension will fluctuate under different towing conditions. If one is starting out of the gate 460lbs "light" on the front suspension this only amplifies the negative effect on TV handling under less then ideal towing conditions.
Once the WDH is adjusted to meet the TV's front suspension requirements the TV's degree of rear squat is-what-it-is......, after proper WDH adjustment a TV rear squat of 1" to 2" is normal for most trucks/SUV's.
Most vehicle Owners Manuals Towing Section don't refer to "weight" return, they reference TV front wheel well "measurement" return. Some will specify a 100% wheel well measurement return, some will state a % of the height delta (unhitched to hitched).
