Question WDH question

Hi All
I am still a newbie to WDHs. I have a question about the setup I got from the dealer. When I go to hook up the chain on the right side of the hitch attaches much sooner than on the left. I seem to have to go another 2 inches before I can attach the left side. Is this normal or is something out of whack. Not often but sometimes the order of the chains will switch. I do have the same number of links on both sides. I have a 2001 F150 towing a Jay Feather X17 C loaded about 3500#. Thanks for any help I can get

I've noticed when i attach mine the second one is always hardest. being on unlevel ground also makes it a little more difficult. Also, try lifting the trailer and truck higher off the ground as this will make attaching the chains easier as well.

The condition where engaging the snap-up bracket on one side is a little more difficult then the other is common.

If you want to confirm that your RV dealer adjusted your WDH correctly, a visit to the CAT scale will provide you with all the information you need. In most cases the best a dealer can do is setup/adjust a WDH under "unloaded" conditions as it leaves their lot, you want it adjusted under "loaded" conditions thus optimizing the performance of the WDH.
