weight distribution set up

I finished setting up a new WDH today, Reese Steadi Flex 10,000 lb. I took it to a certified scales today to check my set up. 3300 front axle, max is 3800, 3280 drive axle, max is 4150, and trailer weight is 4940. Is there a stability problem with carrying more weight on the front axle than the rear?

Your WD bars are too heavy and are transferring too much weight to the front of the truck. And yes there are stability and safety concerns with doing that. Match the WD to the weight of the trailer.

Did you only do one pass across the scales?

I followed chevy's trailering guide. The front wheel well measurement is where it should be.

To know exactly what is going on with your setup, you need to do 3 passes.

1) Truck-trailer-WD hitch engaged
2) Truck-trailer-WD hitch bars not engaged
3) Truck only

This will give you your exact axle weights and you will be able to see how much is being transferred back to your steer axle by your hitch.

No problem. Let us know if you have any questions once you get those numbers. What you want to see the front axle weights being the same or close to the same between weigh #1 with the WD system engaged and #3 with the truck with no trailer.

linedriver,

The following JOF link will breakdown in detail the 3-pass weigh-in that member 'Midnightmoon' referenced in his post.
