Installed Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs. Don’t really need them, but the few times I hit nasty road whoops or expansion joints with the big Eagle TT behind me, I thought how well they settled down my old truck and TT trailer combo in those situations, so put them on anyway. We’ll see next weekend if they work as expected and reduce the pucker factor.

Took it in Friday to have the plugs changed. Getting ready for a long trip.

Now, they are fixing the timing change, and supposedly putting on new turbos. Didn't know anything about the turbos, but I suspected a problem with the timing chain. There has been a TSB concerning timing chains in the 1st generation Ecoboost for quite some time. I had mentioned both the, only occasionally, the noise coming from what I thought was the timing chain. The service guy called back later and said they were getting some codes related to both the timing chain and the turbos, and that there some TSB's on the turbos also.

We will see what happens. Both of these items are covered under the original 5 year/60k engine warranty.

Had an 02 Silverado with that motor before my Duramax and I’d buy that truck back today. Is that a fair review for you?

Washed my truck and camper, heading out tomorrow morning for 5 days.
This will be my first test of the truck over the cascade passes.

Replaced the turbos and waste gates, new timing change and phasers. I'm just glad it was done under warranty. Otherwise, it'd have been a $5500 to $6000 hit to my pocket.

Air Bags

I installed a set of AirLift airbags on my 2010 Tacoma. She handles our Jayco well, plenty of power and all, but pogos a bit. Havent tried it loaded yet, but think it will improve the ride!

Just picked mine up from the dealership...oil change and completed the water pump recall. So I get home and pop the hood, like I normally do to see what they screwed up...and they didn't fill the coolant reservoir up all the way?? Why is it that the dealerships can't do simple things properly the first time?

Drive it around for a few days and recheck it. They very well may have overfilled it. But, these Cummins trucks tend to trap a good bit of air in the system that may take a few good heat cycles to get worked out.

Dan you have to be polite to the people at the dealership. You CANNOT go in there with an attitude like you sometimes have been known to do. It should be yessir and no maam........

Try being extra polite next time and I bet they will do everything correct the next time.

BTW where are you?? My tank came and you are supposed to install it for me..........

LOL
