Finally got around to installing the auxiliary reverse lights. Waiting for it to get dark to aim them.

Replaced the turn signal arm assembly that was causing the high beams to come on at start up. Now I'm chasing an electrical issue that is causing the hazard fuse to blow.

Added an additional leaf to the rear springs and installed Bilstein shocks on all four corners.

Had new rubber put on at the local Discount Tire. I figured I'd have to replace them some time over the winter, as I just hit 40K on them. But while returning to my winter home (RV resort in Ingram, TX) I picked up a large screw. I knew DT wouldn't put a plug in a worn out tire, so I just drove it the 1-1/2 miles to the park and changed it there. Really tore up the sidewall!

Got a good price on a set of Yokohamas that have a moderately-aggressive tread (I'll still be doing some off-road driving during hunting trips), and good traction in the rain on the way home from DT, but they are very quiet (great for highway driving/towing). And they have a 70K mile warranty, so I should be good for another 4-6 years!

Brownie,

They look great , seen them during my morning walk around the CG today, and I'm sure you plan to keep those new tires off the icy roads this evening

Today I test drove two potential replacements. On the way home my low gas lite came on. Even thou it was only $2.02/gal, I only put in $20 worth- 1/3 tank.

Give me a sign.

Reading over my own post just drew an old memory. My father (RIP) owned a dealership (Buick, Pontiac, Land Rover) back in the 60's. When cars were low on gas he gave the testing drivers a chit worth $5 at the local Mobile gas station. As I recall gas was about $0.25 /gal then.

This leads me to another old memory. Back in the old days of DOS I knew how to make a cents symbol. I don't remember how anymore. Senile?

I have kept mine safe and warm in the garage....the roads are icy and the City has had over 225 wrecks the past 2 days. I'm getting cabin fever but the 2500HD still has straight sheet metal and no scratches. I will put up with it a couple more days.

I cleaned the SNOW! off mine.. it's ARIZONA! SNOW ain't supposed to happen at this elevation. I moved from MI to get away from that stuff.

My F350 won't fit in my garage. But, like yours, thankfully mine still has straight sheet metal and no scratches. And I plan to keep it that way. I'll drive my wife's car until the roads are better.

Setting up old WDH to new TV. Got an issue with the wiring on the passenger light. Got it narrowed down to the truck side but where is the 64 million dollar question. Towed camper for the first time. The new suburban won't tow it in overdrive. Manual says it will. Gonna have a tech look at it. Basically working out the kinks of a new setup before we take off to Florida in the spring.

Thanks, Bob. The Yoko's were a good compromise between the factory "P" series and "LT"s. They have 3-ply sidewalls, instead of 2. They feel a little stiffer, which should improve the handling while towing. We'll see!

Was surprised to see the number of 5ers and busses that pulled into the campground last night! Sure wouldn't have wanted to pull my rig in last night's weather!

What I heard was a couple had reservations, but the rest were call-ins to get off the interstate because of the weather.

We had some decent weather here a little while ago so I installed some extendable tow mirrors. They are fully functional with the OEM mirror controls and have heated glass too. Took about 2 hours and while I had the door panels off I installed some upgrade speakers, to go with the new head unit I put in New Year's Eve. Just gotta do the rear door speakers, waiting on the weather.

After

Filled my fuel tank and checked fluid levels in preparation for a trip to a winter host position. Only increasing rear tire pressure to tow level left to do.
