What did you do to your Tow Vehicle today?

Curiosity finally got the best of me and weighed in after getting fuel yesterday. I’d never weighed this setup. I’m using my truck to it’s full capacity. Came in right at GVWR, but 600 below rear axle. Yesterday I had 30mph direct crosswinds in West Texas and it did well. Very happy with this setup.

Cleaned and coated all battery terminals. Checked water levels also.

Finished installing the fuse tap and wiring to the solenoid for the DC-DC charging system I'm in the process of installing (albeit slowly at the moment). The Victron DC-DC charger should be showing up tomorrow so if there is decent weather this w/e I can start getting the installation of that going.

Also, just back from a week+ trip to visit my youngest daughter in Phoenix. Took the TV w/o the trailer as I don't have any place close to her to park it at the moment. This is the first time I've run anything close to a full tank through it without the trailer hooked up. Put about 3k on it round-trip and was pleasantly surprised at the mpg from the 6.2L and 6-speed with 4.30 gears. Overall for the whole trip the average was 14.96 with best tank at 16.8 and worst tank at 13.7. Can't complain about that when rolling 7k+ down the road anywhere from 65-80.

Do I want the new and improved model (I don't recall what the new model # is as this took place over the phone) for $10 more/ tire! Well I guess so...I need 2 new steer tires...especially since we leave on June 22nd for Yellowstone! I guess I'm just mostly venting!

Michelin had a recall on the LTX MS/2 a few years ago for defective sidewalls. They replaced it with the "Defender" line of tires and from what I can find online, the Defender has now also been discontinued or otherwise unavailable outside of remaining dealer stock.

https://www.michelinman.com/tires/de...r-ltx-m-s.html

I have only been following this since we had a failure of the MS/2 sidewall as was described by the recall.

I want to say that the model they said was Agilis...but I won't swear to it. I need to get online and look it up on their website.

I feel your pain on buying tires! I’m about to pull the trigger on a set of 4 drive tires. I have run Continentals ever since I owned the TV. I was a Michelin man on my previous TV but hate to spend the $600 more for them. I got 5 years and over 70k miles on the Continentals so I can’t complain! Like you, I have to go with the new brand called Conti Hybrid HD3 I think. I just hope they are as good as the HDRs. Good luck to you!!

I replaced all six of my Nexen tires that came on my RAM. They only had 24,000 miles on them. The reason I replaced them is the driver side front started to separate while towing our FW at 65 mph. Didn't want anything to do with Nexen. Replaced all six with Yokohama Geolandar H/T. Very pleased with them..........smooth ride and the deepest tread I've ever seen on a tire.

In waiting room gettin the oil changed an tires rotated before our trip. Decided to order a bug guard for the hood while I was here. Guy knocked $15 off so not too painful, better than chipped paint

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll check out the Yokohama tires.

Install a Sat Connection on the side of my 5th wheel, eliminating the connection on the wet bay for my living room tv.

Gave her a drink. I’m leaving early tomorrow to drive 3.5 hours to the dealer to pick up my new 298BH. I didn’t have enough fuel to get there.

Got the 2 new shoes on the front. Left Discount Tire to get about 4 miles down the road and TPS comes on telling me inner driver rear is flat! Pull over...sure enough...as a pancake. So now I’m back at discount waiting on tire repair! I see adult beverages in my near future!
