Gave mine a bath. Almost passed out from the heat. Only 95 with heat index of 105. If anyone needs a picture for proof, I’ll add one once I get rehydrated and it cools down some.

Changed the fuel filter and the trans filter. Spilled oil and diesel in the bed. Apparently low pressure over the bed creates suction over the catch pan that’s open. Note to self...close bed cover next time or replace 10 year old catch pan.

Last Thursday: Dealer changed the oil and filter. I replaced the air filter. I gave the pickup a bath at the car wash. After dinner I hooked up the trailer for a trip to my sister's and brother-in-law's house on Lake Oswego, OR. on Friday. Thank you to the wife and brother for loading the trailer while I was at work Fri. We parking lot camped across the street from her house. This seems to work very well for both of us. We do always have electric. We came home on Tuesday.

After an 8-week wait the Leer 122 canopy finally arrived. Had it installed over lunch today. I will be running it over the CAT scale tomorrow for a revised empty weight in preparation for scaling with the trailer in the near future.

Took it to dealer today to get trim fixed on tailgate. Tailgate decided to come down on its own when I turned on our street and into our driveway on last trip home. I have a new front compartment door coming also.

Ran it over the CAT scale empty with full fuel and driver only to document the change from the installation of the Leer 122 canopy. Looks like it gained ~230lbs though I've still got ~2800 available payload which is plenty to work with for our combo.

Just got my old '07 Ram back from the frame shop. Had a little frame reinforcement/repair project taken care of. I usually do all of my own work, but this one was out of my league.

Pics are of the driver and passenger side respectfully.

I sold it. Not pleasant, but I sold the Eagle Tuesday and just didn't need it any longer. We are probably through camping but if we should change our minds it would be a much smaller trailer that we could easily pull behind our Expedition or Yukon. And that eagle by the way was just as good as it was the day we bought it.

Put a new VFD (vacuum fluorescent display) in my BrakeSmart brake controller. For about a year now, it would startup bright and dim to zero in less than 2 seconds. Figured a bad capacitor, but couldn’t find anyone to fix it. Still worked, but can’t see status or make adjustments. Can’t believe I was able to find an exact match (ONE not 100 minimum!) online for the 13 year old unit. $50 part, one state over, arrived less than 2 days. Took 3 hr solder surgery to r/r the 14 pins. Was blind, but now I can see! VFD’s are so pretty. I hope it has 13 more years, as these are not made anymore nor found for sale anywhere as they were and still are the finest. Click image for larger version

I watched it drive away with it's new owner. He bought it Saturday with a down payment and brought the rest this morning. I had that truck for about 16 years and really loved it. I just hope it works out for him. He's planning on a fifth wheel that I think he said was 38 or 39 ft. That concerns me a bit.

I had it detailed Thursday and it looks like the day I bought. It was very difficult, kind of like the same feeling I had when each of our three daughters got married.

TcNashville . I'm guessing the reason our campers were put together properly had a lot to do with bad economy. Mike will be wrong. Also they didn't have Thor overseers pushing them to get junk out the door no matter what. I'm a little disappointed to have to say that my number to daughter and her husband are looking for a camper. And lo and behold, he being an engineer and she being a researcher, they have already ruled Jayco out. They are wearing that store owns Airstream but are still considering it.

Are those frame caps? Did you have a rust issue? I welded caps on a Buddy’s 2004 Tacoma, yeah he bought a truck with a rusted frame. What serious PITA that was, had to run the top bead across the cap using a mirror because the cab wouldn’t allow me to get the helmet up there to see the bead. The PO had sprayed bed liner on everything so that had to be removed beforehand...that was its own headache!

Yes, there was rust through on the passenger side frame rail just below the cab mount (see attached pic). The frame shop did the driver's side also. It wasn't through yet, but didn't look good after hitting it with a needle scaler.

I've found quite a few people now that have had rust issues in this area on these 3rd gen Dodge HD frames, especially in the salt belt. Probably not as well known as the Toyota issues, but it isn't uncommon at all.

I had one of those years ago, Best BC I ever had. I installed it myself. I let it go with my first diesel.
