When I bought the truck in January, first thing I told the wife, tires are junk. They really were. But here we are 9k miles later and now have load range E rated tires...WooHooo!

I dunno, trading the stock Goodyears for Firestones doesn't strike me as a huge upgrade...

Checked and added air in all 12 tires (dually and 5er + 2 spares) 3-5psi for our short term departure tomorrow to Jayco in Middlebury. This is normal since leaving TX Jun 28. Checked all TireMinder TPMS batt voltages. Good to go.

First...not Goodyears, all 2018 TITANS came with Generals, unless off roading. The upgrade was from load rand B 116 to load range E 124, and 3,525 lbs each. Factory tires rated at 2,756. Gained 1,441 lbs tire capacity on each axle. And with 24k miles, they only had 3-4/32nds tread left.

This happened 9-12-20:

I drove 40 miles to meet some relatives for lunch. After lunch I started my truck and it ran for 3-4 seconds and died instantly. Would not start. Batteries new, fuel filter changed by me a couple thousand miles ago - Hmmmm! I raised the hood and pumped the fuel filter prime pump and it was soft. Pumped it up and walla instant restart. I was about 2 miles from a GMC dealer so off I went to Barkley GMC in Tuscaloosa, AL. This being Friday afternoon at 1:00pm'ish I didn't have much hope of anything happening, but I didn't want to drive back out in the boonies without a solution.

My hat is off to this dealership and Mike Dunn the service writer who got my truck in the shop quickly. The fuel filter housing check valve was not checking it seems. But then after 14 years and 211,000 miles I'm not too surprised and this is the original housing. 2 hours after I drove in I drove out with the part replaced. Remember I said this was a busy Friday afternoon. I know they had to have a technician available and also have the part, but they all jumped right on it and I was back home with no issues since.

Sometimes that black cloud isn't following me around.

Got her refueled and prepped to head out this afternoon. All that's left to do is actually hitch up. Can't wait to get back out...

Washed it yesterday and will be loading up the generator and few other items we always carry today in anticipation of heading out later this week. This will be the first trip with the new Leer canopy and looking forward to not getting wet when dealing with the gear in the bed if we hit a bit of weather. Also got the sample return kit from Blackstone Labs and am planning on sending an oil sample in for analysis when we are back from the upcoming trip.

Added Sumo Springs to the rear a couple of months ago. They improved the squat and made the ride much more secure. Click image for larger version

Changed the power steering fluid and started on the brake fluid, but first, check to make sure each bleeder valve was going to work. Had one break and have a caliper coming tomorrow and a couple new bleeder valves for the front calipers. New brake fluid going in tomorrow after work. Checked the air filter and all is good.

Man are those fluids nasty black. Suppose to be nearly clear! But my fault; those fluids should be replaced every so often anyways to keep them at their best.
