One owner took the truck to the RAM dealer, was told they were unable to get repair parts and to drive it anyway. Seven days TO THE DAY the dealer returned it to him, it caught fire on I-40 at 75 mph, simultaneously loosing power. That happened about a month ago. Two days ago, someone else I know who had their vehicle 'inspected' in November 2019 to determine 'if' it needed repair, caught fire idling at a stop light.... but be aware...failure is certain the closer you get to 100k miles. (Disclaimer here, I do not own a RAM truck, my ownership was cut short by FCA re-acquiring my vehicle under terms of the Texas Lemon Law.)

Yes, another RAM EcoDiesel fire. Owner took it to the dealer for now total of three 'recalls', including reprogram of PCM. The RAM dealer performed all the prescribed work...EXCEPT...EGR heat exchanger replacement. The owner was advised was OK to drive the truck. Three weeks and one day later, it wasn't. The truck (2015 RAM Ecodiesel 1500 110k miles) only sustained damage under the hood, but was deemed total loss by insurance. Meanwhile, FCA intervened and offered full KBB retail value for the vehicle. The vehicle was surrendered from the tow yard, and the previous RAM owner is now EcoBoosting around the neighborhood. That makes three in my 3,800 population county.

News from Europe...RAM and Jeepsters are now driving vehicles manufactured by Stellantis. The 'newly formed' company is basically acquisition of FCA by PSA (Peugoet Automobiles France). The $38b (USD) acquisition is supposed to 'modernize' the FCA fleet. (yes, I know I'm driving a Renault). https://www.detroitnews.com/story/bu...go/6219051002/

Prep'ed for winter. 250lbs sand in the back of the bed and figured out how the 4 wheel low option works! Jumper cables and tow strap in the storage bin just in case.

I fixed the seat switch so all the controls consistently work now. After troubleshooting the driver’s door switch I realized that the passenger rear door switch is dead, ordered a replacement.

Since Old Man Winter is bound to wake up sooner rather than later, I decided to throw some weight in the back of the truck...700 lbs and I’m ready for snow. Since I live in the Rockies, I keep chains in my truck toolbox year round. Several years ago I re-geared to 4.10’s and added a TruTrac to the truck... I will never understand why FORD thought it would be appropriate to put an open differential in a 2 Wheel Dr. truck!

LOL. They would just ask why you bought 2WD, in CO. I drove a 2WD for awhile. Never again here.

I drove RWD Rangers in eastern Nebraska...1984, 1986, 1988 and 1992. All were stick shifts, all had over 150k miles, were conventional cab short beds except the 1992, Supercab and 4.0 V6....still a stick. Three 50 lb tubes of sand 0ver rear axle and they went anywhere.

Got my tires rotated. My truck came from the factory with Goodyear Wranglers with Kevlar and they have 32K on them. Tech said I should get another 20K at least. Nice tire.

I've got the same tires on my '19 F-250 and I think they are wearing similarly. They check them every time I have it in for The Works at the dealer for tread depth and rotate them about every 7K or so. 21K on them now - ~11K of that towing. For OEM tires they are pretty nice. My previous RAM came with some P-rated Wranglers but they were rather junky and I ended up replacing them at ~30K.

New wiper blades. The old ones were more dead than I realized.

Took it to the Ford Dealership and dropped it off so they can try and find the cause a noise coming from the rear end. It only occurs in 4th gear between 20-30 mph when going up a hill.

Well after 300,000+ miles on the steering gear the Pitman shaft seal started leaking. Replaced gear box,pressure/return hoses and steering shaft coupler.GEEZ I had forgotten how tight the steering should be.I rebuilt the suspension and steering last year.

I swear that my trucks get jealous of each other and have fits if I spend too much time with one of them. I just got my wife's Ram back together after the 2nd clockspring this month and my '07 decided to spring a radiator leak on the way home from work. Now to try and find one in stock somewhere.
