Took to the body shop to get the tailgate repaired. Received 6" of snow 2 days after getting home from 7 weeks on the Gulf coast and decided to clear the drive with my new 4x4 tractor with front bucket and rear blade. Did a pretty good job for a rookie and was just cleaning up around main parking area. Looked over my shoulder after pushing a bucket load to the grass behind my truck. Wanted to make sure I was clear of my wife's Jeep as I backed up. BANG!!! Jeep fine but slapped the tailgate of my 2500HD with the raised front bucket. OPs!!

Score: Wife 50 me 0. Tailgate repair less than $100 but getting back in good graces with Boss will be a lot higher.

Been staring at that ever so annoying yellow check engine light for some time now. Got the code from Auto Zone, drivers side O2 Sensor. $95.00 later the light is out. Soon be time for the other side to go......

Yesterday I serviced the transmission on my RAM.

Removed the pan an cleaned it up nicely. The magnet in the pan had just a small amount of metal-wear dust on it, so I'm happy about that.

Replaced both filters with Genuine Mopar spin on and sump filters.

Replaced the pan, using Genuine Mopar RTV sealant. Torqued to specs. (8.5 ft pounds)

Refilled transmission with ~7.5 quarts of Genuine Mopar ATF+4 fluid. Checked level. Was a little too full so I sucked some out with a vacuum pump.

Test drove today up and over Cayuse Pass. Tranny temp was looking great the entire trip.

Just checked fluid level again when I got back and it's perfect. Level is dead-center between the two "HOT" level indicator marks. Yippee!

Only problem, which I realized 3/4 of the way through my trip today... I forgot to put the danged magnet back inside the transmission pan. No problem, though. I'll just stick a magnet on the outside. I have a super-strong magnet that I got when I purchased my metal-detector gear. It's used to pull any ferrous metals out of dirt that give a signal. And it is a powerful little sucker.

Getting her all cleaned out for the trade. Got all my non-essential junk out, took out the trailer brake controller, removed my Mag-Lite brackets and light, scraped the parking permits off the windshield, vacuumed, cleaned and treated all the vinyl and plastic with Aerospace 303 protectant. Will give her a good bath tonight or Friday and take off the Roadmaster Active Suspension and remove the bed mat.

I'll be sad to see her go, but the new truck will be a much better fit for our life!

Replaced the external door handle and rebuilt the door lock cylinder after some low-life decided to try to gain entrance with a screwdriver. I'm guessing he was planning on stealing my truck so I also got a Ravelco installed. The $$$ added up pretty quickly... glad I was able to do the work myself on the handle and door lock since that saved me about $250. Grrrrrrrrr

Same thing happened 2x's in my 2006 f150. Both times they punched out my lock and popped the door open. Lost a computer and all my work stuff the first time, lost all my gym and camping gear the second time. This was middle of the day at a popular shopping center. Low life scum.
